Payment Methods

Pricing & Billing

Overview

The Payment Information section in the Pricing & Billing dashboard shows all saved payment methods on your account. You can update an existing card, update the billing address, delete non-default cards, and handle past-due payments directly from this page.

Viewing your saved cards

Each saved payment method appears as a card panel in the right section of the billing dashboard, showing:

FieldDescription
Default Payment badgeShown on the card that Stripe will charge automatically. Only one card can be the default.
Card Expired badgeShown in red when the card's expiry date has passed. Update the card immediately to avoid payment failures.
Card brand logoVisa, Mastercard, Amex, etc.
Card numberMasked as **** **** **** [last 4 digits].
Card ExpiryMonth / Year of expiry.
Billing AddressThe billing address associated with this card (line 1, city, state, postal code, country).

Updating a payment method

1In the Payment Information section, find the card you want to update
2Click Change Payment method below the card details
3The Update Card dialog opens — enter the new card details
4Confirm — the card is updated on your Stripe account and becomes the default payment method

If your card has expired, a Card Expired badge appears. Update the card as soon as possible to prevent failed payments and a past-due status.

Updating the billing address

1In the Billing Address Details section below the card, click Update Billing address
2The Update Address dialog opens
3Edit the address fields and confirm
4The billing address is updated on the payment method

Deleting a card

Non-default payment methods show a Delete Card link. Clicking it opens a confirmation dialog — confirm to remove the card from your account.

The default payment method cannot be deleted directly. To remove the default card, first update your payment method to a new card (making it the new default), then delete the old card.

Handling a past-due payment

When a payment fails, the subscription status changes to Past due(shown as a red badge). A warning appears in the subscription panel: "Your payment is past due. Please pay now or update your payment method to continue accessing premium features."

You have two options:

ActionWhat it does
Pay Now (green button)Attempts to immediately charge the open invoice using the saved default payment method. On success: "Payment successful! Redirecting…" and the page reloads to reflect the restored subscription. On failure: an error message appears.
Update Payment Method (blue button)Opens the Update Card dialog so you can enter a new card. After updating, use Pay Now to charge the outstanding invoice.

A Billing Banner also appears at the top of the billing page for past-due organisations, with quick-access buttons to update the card or open the billing portal.

Troubleshooting

No payment methods are shown

Your account may not have a saved card yet. Use the Subscribe flow to add a payment method when setting up your plan, or contact Silverile support.

"Card Expired" is shown on my card

Click "Change Payment method" to enter new card details. Update the card immediately to prevent payment failures and a past-due subscription status.

Pay Now failed

The error message describes the reason. Most commonly: the card was declined. Click "Update Payment Method" to enter a valid card, then try Pay Now again.

I cannot delete my default card

The Delete Card link only appears on non-default cards. First update your payment method to a new card (making it the new default), then delete the old card.
