Available actions

Create Story

Select a story type, optionally enable Test Cases and/or Pseudo Code, then click Proceed. Monty generates and creates the story in the backlog.

If context is insufficient, Monty responds: "Please check the Storyline. Providing a bit more context or details about the specific storyline would help."

Create Sprint

Monty prompts for Sprint Name (required, max 35 characters), Start Date, and End Date. Dates are validated before creating.

Sprint Name is required — Monty will ask again if it is missing or too long.

Create Defect

Select the story the defect relates to, then review the summary Monty prepares. Confirm to create the defect.

Monty summarises the defect before acting: "I will create a defect as per your request. Kindly confirm."

Asking questions

Beyond creating items, you can ask Monty questions about your project's sprint analytics — velocity trends, story completion rates, team workload, and similar metrics. Monty draws on the data available in your current project context.

  • "What is our average velocity over the last 5 sprints?"
  • "Which stories are at risk of not completing this sprint?"
  • "How many defects were filed last sprint?"
  • "Who has the most stories assigned this sprint?"

Troubleshooting

Monty says it needs more context to create a story

The story description or storyline you provided was too short or vague. Add more detail about the feature, user type, and expected behaviour, then try again.

Sprint creation fails because the name is too long

Sprint names must be 35 characters or fewer. Shorten the name and try again.

Monty created the wrong item

Monty confirms defect creation before acting ("Kindly confirm"). For stories and sprints, check the details Monty summarises before clicking Proceed. If an item was created in error, delete it from the Story List or Sprint page.
